This post was written 6 months ago (in Oct 2017) before we moved, but I never got around to publishing it. Blogging has been on hold, while we moved and settled in. I thought I would share it with you now, as I am looking forward to blogging a bit more over the coming months.
We are moving!
“It’s been a little while since I posted and a lot has been happening the last few months. So I thought I would share with you all a bit of our journey. In the next week or two, we are moving from the beautiful Illawarra on the South Coast of NSW to the beautiful Mudgee in the Central West of NSW. 🙂
I’m excited…
It’s getting exciting but as many of you know, moving is stressful! I have lived in the Illawarra my whole life and I have accumulated a lot of stuff in that time. We are going from living in a big house to a smaller house (half the size), so decluttering and minimising is a must. We have loved this house and it has been such a blessing to our family, but when you have space, you fill it, and when you fill it, there is more to clean and sort. So I am very much looking forward to having less stuff but more land!
We have bought a property with some family members which has a lot more land and we are very much looking forward to learning to live off the land, while homeschooling our children.
I remember reading blogs about the families who were homesteading and homeschooling when our first child was just a baby. I remember thinking it would be awesome to be able to grow your own food, ferment your own sauerkraut and learn about nature by living and breathing it. But here we are today, packing our stuff to move to a place where we can do just that!
I am amazed…
I am amazed at how God has led us to this place at this point in our life! It is a place where my husband is able to take his work (due to the nature of most of his work being remote and online ). He runs his own business ‘Salt Media’ and is a professional animator and filmmaker, so he will be doing the same thing there as he was doing here, which is awesome.
It is a place where we can grow our own veggie’s, have a few animals and homeschool our children. A place where we can learn, play, grow and be still! 🙂
I’m looking forward to sharing more news, info and adventures with you from the farm in the future! Till then, I better keep packing. :)”
